2013 Southeast Pre-Academy League Playoffs

GENERAL OVERVIEW:
For the purposes of determining champions, Southeast Pre-Academy League playoffs will include the top teams in the U-14 age groups.
 
The Southeast Pre-Academy League champion will advance to the 2013 NPL Champions Cup, where NPL national championships will be awarded. That event is slated for July 18-22 at Aurora Sports Park in suburban Denver.

DATES AND LOCATION:
May 25-27, 2013
WRAL Soccer Center
Raleigh, N.C.

PLAYOFF QUALIFIERS AND COMPETITION STRUCTURE:
The top eight U-14 teams will qualify for the Southeast Pre-Academy League playoffs.
 
Quarterfinal games will be held on Saturday, semifinals Sunday and the championship game will be on Monday. A consolation bracket will also be provided on Sunday allowing a minimum of 2 games. On Monday only the finalist will play.

AGE GROUP STRUCTURE:
  • U-14: Players born on or after January 1, 1998.
Players will be roster-tied to their teams for the duration of the event. Regular Southeast Pre-Academy League roster rules apply to the playoffs.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (PDP):
In conjunction with the Southeast Pre-Academy League playoffs, US Club Soccer will also be hosting a Player Development Program (PDP) event for the top boys born in 2000.
 
The PDP event will take place on Sat., May 25, with a morning session and afternoon session, scouted by U.S. Soccer technical staff and US Club Soccer id2 Program staff. Players identified through the PDP event will be considered for inclusion into the U.S. Soccer National Team programming as well as US Club Soccer’s id2 Program Training Camps.
 
US Club Soccer will solicit recommendations for the PDP event during the spring, and will select participants based on these recommendations and performance during the spring season. PDP sessions will be “staggered” with Southeast Pre-Academy League playoffs, enabling scouts to observe players in both events.
