MANHEIM, Pa. (Oct. 14, 2014) - The stakes were high at the Northeast Pre-Academy League Fall 2014 Scouting Showcase, Oct. 11-13, at Classics Park in Manheim, Pa.
In addition to scouts from U.S. Soccer and US Club Soccer’s id² Program being in attendance, games between Northeast Pre-Academy League opponents counted towards the league regular season standings. The event featured 16 teams from U-13 boys age bracket and 14 teams from the U-15 boys division.
id² Boys Program Director Gerry McKeown scouted players for potential inclusion to the final id² Training Camp of the current cycle, Dec. 11-14 at Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Ariz. U.S. Soccer scouts Ian Hennessy and Frank Olszewski were also in attendance, eyeing potential invitations to youth national team training camps.
All NPL teams, including the competitors of the Northeast Pre-Academy League Fall 2014 Scouting Showcase, are working towards qualification for the 2015 NPL Finals, which will be held at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind., July 9-13.
The 2014-15 Northeast Pre-Academy League playoffs will take place in the summer of 2015 with winning teams from qualifying age groups advancing to the NPL Finals.
