Virginia NPL boys and girls teams qualify for 2016 NPL Finals
CHARLESTON, S.C. (Feb. 12, 2016) – In its second season in the National Premier Leagues (NPL), the Virginia NPL has qualified 12 teams for the 2016 NPL Finals. The following U-13 through U-18 boys and girls division champions from Virginia NPL have earned the rights to travel to Aurora, Colo. in July to compete for national championships.in one of the most prestigious championships in the country.
- U-13 Boys: Prince William Courage
- U-14 Boys: Richmond Kickers
- U-15 Boys: Virginia Rush
- U-16 Boys: Chantilly Youth Association
- U-17 Boys: Virginia Soccer Association
- U-18 Boys: Prince William Courage
- U-13 Girls: Prince William Courage
- U-14 Girls: FC Virginia
- U-15 Girls: Northern Virginia SC
- U-16 Girls: Vienna Youth Soccer
- U-17 Girls: Annandale Boys & Girls Club
- U-18 Girls: Prince William Courage
The NPL Finals is the culminating event for all NPL members across the country. The 2016 NPL Finals will be held July 14-18 at Aurora Sports Park in Aurora, Colo.
Virginia NPL hosts first PDP of 2016
Virginia NPL hosted its first Player Development Program (PDP) event of 2016 in Richmond, Va., targeting the state’s top players born 2002-03 (girls) and 2003-04 (boys).
The PDP, which featured over 80 players, took place at Ukrop Park in Richmond.
Aaron Brunner, Director of U.S. Soccer Training Center, and Bob Jennings, U.S. Soccers scout, were in attendance to oversee the event.
US Club Soccer PDPs are regionally based identification and developmental programs operating under the id² Program umbrella. Top players from this Virginia PDP will be invited to participate at the id² Training Camp in Raleigh, N.C., April 17-20.
