The Gulf States Premier League hosted a US Club Soccer Player Development Program (PDP) Nov. 3 at New Orleans City Park. The event brought together 24 boys born in 1999 and 2000 as well as 21 girls born in 1998 and 1999. id2 Program scouts were on-site at the event to scout players for potential inclusion in upcoming id2 Program Training Camps.
Serving as coaches at the event were Donevin Esterhuizen (Gulf Coast United), Stephen Otto (Chicago Fire Juniors of Mississippi Assistant DOC), Michael Ritch (Cajun SC Executive Director) and Jeremy Short (Chicago Fire Juniors of Mississippi Girls Director).
Centered around the National Premier Leagues (NPL), PDPs are regionally-based identification and development programs conducted within the id2 Program with invitations based primarily upon scouting within the hosting NPL. The id2 Program and Player Development Programs (PDP) are each sanctioned as an Olympic Development Program as approved by the United States Olympic Committee and U.S. Soccer Federation.
