CHARLESTON, S.C. (Jan. 21, 2014) – The final deadline to apply for the inaugural NPL Showcase, set for March 7-9 in Las Vegas, is Jan. 31. A limited number of spots remain to complete age groups. The list of current committed clubs can be found below.

The NPL Showcase serves as the NPL’s first national scouting event for U-16, U-17 and U-18 boys teams. The event allows players an opportunity to be scouted by college coaches, while also providing teams with an opportunity to face high-quality competition.

“This event continues to build the NPL platform,” said NPL General Manager Chris Baer. “In addition to meaningful league play, the id2 Program and PDP, and the NPL Finals, clubs and players can now benefit from a national showcase event that will provide teams with challenging – and different – competition, as well as additional scouting opportunities.”

Preferential acceptance is based on final standings from the 2012-13 NPL season. Each team will play one full-length game per day for a total of three games. Games begin 9 a.m. on Friday, March 7 and conclude by 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 9.
The fee is $950 per team and applications are available here. Interested teams should contact your Membership Services Representative or NPL General Manager Chris Baer at

For more information, please visit the NPL Showcase Web page.

College coaches may register here to attend the event. Coaches receive numerous benefits, including a player profile book, special lounge area with meals, reduced hotel rates, golf cart transportation at venue and VIP parking.

The NPL was created to elevate and change the competitive youth soccer landscape by extending developmental principles espoused by U.S. Soccer into more age groups and clubs, by linking competition with player development and identification platforms, and by providing meaningful weekly competition culminating in the NPL Finals.

The NPL consists of 18 independent leagues (map), unified under one national competition platform, and based on a common technical framework designed to improve long-term player development.

A National Association member of the U.S. Soccer Federation, US Club Soccer is an organization committed to the development and support of soccer clubs in the United States.

US Club Soccer offers youth and adult registration, league- and cup-based competition platforms at the recreational and competitive levels, as well as a variety of other programming, including the Olympic Development Program-sanctioned id2 Program and Player Development Programs.

Through US Club Soccer, all of a club’s programs – recreational, competitive and adult – are able to be united under one organizational umbrella, creating a “members for life” culture within each club.
