CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 19, 2014) - Five teams earned outright championships during the Mountain Developmental League playoffs, June 7-8 at the FC Boulder Soccer Complex in Boulder, Colo. Six other age groups have co-champions after heavy storms abbreviated play.
Rio Rapids SC took home plenty of hardware from the event. The New Mexico-based club claimed two outright championships and earned co-champion status in two other age groups. Real Colorado also performed well, winning one age bracket outright and accomplishing co-championships in three other age groups.
All winners, including co-champions, qualified directly to the NPL Finals. The Finals event, to be held July 10-14 in Greensboro, N.C., is the targeted destination for all NPL teams from across the country during the year-long, league-based competition.
