NPL Champions Cup

 
GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The culminating event of the National Premier Leagues (NPL) season each year is the NPL Champions Cup, where the NPL national champions will be crowned. The NPL Champions Cup will feature qualifiers from every NPL across the country in a true “champions league” competition.

DATE AND LOCATION:

July 18 – 22, 2013

Round-robin play will take place July 18-20. Semifinals and finals will be held July 21-22.
 
Please arrive on July 17, the day before play begins, as some games will begin at 9 a.m. on July 18. All championship games will be completed by 2 p.m. on July 22.

PARTICIPANTS:

Winners in the U-13 through U-18 boys and girls age groups from the following NPLs will qualify for the 2013 NPL Champions Cup:

  • EDP
  • Florida Premier League
  • Gulf States Premier League
  • Midwest Developmental League
  • Mountain Developmental League
  • New England Premier League
  • NPL Division of New York Club Soccer League
  • NPL Division of NorCal Premier League
  • Northeast Pre-Academy League
  • NPL Division of Northern Illinois Soccer League
  • NPL Division of Oregon Premier League
  • Pacific Developmental NPL
  • South Atlantic Premier League
  • Southeast Pre-Academy League
  • Southern California National Premier League
  • Texas Pre-Academy League
  • Washington State Premier League

U-13: Players born on or after January 1, 1999
U-14: Players born on or after January 1, 1998
U-15: Players born on or after January 1, 1997
U-16: Players born on or after January 1, 1996
U-17: Players born on or after January 1, 1995
U-18: Players born on or after January 1, 1994
 
U-13: Players born between August 1, 1999 and July 31, 2000
U-14: Players born between August 1, 1998 and July 31, 1999
U-15: Players born between August 1, 1997 and July 31, 1998
U-16: Players born between August 1, 1996 and July 31, 1997
U-17: Players born between August 1, 1995 and July 31, 1996
U-18: Players born between August 1, 1994 and July 31, 1995

Rosters will freeze at 5 p.m. MT on July 11. Players will be roster-tied to one team, even if the club has multiple age groups qualify. All participating players must have been registered with the participating club during the NPL season. Three additional “open” spots will be available for players that were not previously registered with the NPL club that have committed to the participating club for the 2013-14 NPL season.

All teams who need accommodations must book hotel reservations through Anthony Travel, Inc. to ensure their place in the tournament. Any teams that do not comply will be at risk of forfeiting their acceptance.

A LOOK BACK:

The inaugural NPL Champions Cup was held last year at Waukegan Sports Park outside Chicago, Ill. Five teams from three different leagues were crowned national champions, highlighted by a pair of winners from both the Texas Pre-Academy League and the Midwest Developmental League.
