CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 23, 2018) - Thirteen teams across six clubs have qualified to compete in 2018 NPL postseason play after clinching Washington NPL championships. The seven boys winners and six girls division champions will now prepare to take part in their respective postseason pathways.
Central WA Sounders Soccer Academy, ISC Gunners and Wenatchee Valley United SC led the way with three division titles apiece. Franklin Pierce Fury SC, Mount Rainier FC and Washington East SC each collected one championship.
Here is the complete list of 2018 Washington NPL champions:
- Boys 13-U: Wenatchee FC '05
- Girls 13-U: ISC Gunners '05A
- Boys 14-U: ISC Gunners '04A Blue
- Girls 14-U: Franklin Pierce Fury SC '04 Black
- Boys 15-U: Wenatchee FC '03 Black
- Girls 15-U: Mount Rainier FC '03
- Boys 16-U: CWSA '02 Navy
- Girls 16-U: Washington East SC '02
- Boys 17-U: Wenatchee Valley United FC Aguilitas '01
- Girls 17-U: CWSA '01
- Boys 18-U: CWSA '00 Grey
- Boys 19-U: Wenatchee Valley United FC
- Girls 19-U: ISC Gunners '00A
The boys 15-U through 17-U winners will gear up for the Boys Western NPL Finals, June 29-July 3 in San Diego, Calif., while Wenatchee Valley United FC's 19-U boys champions will travel to Lancaster, Massachusetts for the Boys 19-U NPL Finals, June 29-July 3.
The girls division champions will all compete in the Girls NPL Finals, July 12-16 in Aurora, Colo.
In 2019 and beyond, a Northwest NPL competition is in the works, which would feature Washington NPL regular season winners and potential new NPLs in Idaho and Oregon. This Northwest NPL playoff serves as a precursor to the NPL Finals.
