Solar Soccer Club to join Red River NPL next season

CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 1, 2018) – The Red River NPL will grow in the 2018-19 season with the addition of Solar Soccer Club. As the 15th member club of Red River NPL, Solar SC will field a team in all age groups for both genders.

The Red River NPL features 13-U through 19-U boys and girls clubs, and is concluding its first season in the National Premier Leagues (NPL) this year.

Solar SC was founded in 1976 and is based in Texas. The club is well known for its national prowess on multiple stages. Here are the 15 competing clubs in the Red River NPL for the 2018-19 season:

Postseason pathways for the Red River NPL vary based on gender and age group. For the girls, league winners advance to the coveted, annual Girls NPL Finals. For the boys, 13-U and 14-U teams qualify to the National Cup Finals. In the older boys age groups, 15-U, 16-U and 17-U teams advance to the Boys Western NPL Finals, while the oldest age group qualifies to the 19-U Boys NPL Finals.

Outside of NPL programming, the Red River NPL has become well integrated into US Club Soccer programming, including: Players First offerings such as LaLiga Formation Methodology, PDPs and more.

This fall, Red River NPL hosted 76 players from 12 clubs in a PDP in Tulsa, Okla. In addition, Oklahoma Premier Clubs, the sanctioning body of the five Oklahoma-based Red River NPL clubs, recently hosted a LaLiga Formation Methodology Level 3 course, which educated 154 coaches across 19 clubs from 11 states.
