FARMINGTON, Conn. (June 18, 2018) - PDA claimed four of five division titles during this past weekend’s Northeast Girls NPL playoffs, June 16-17 at Farmington Sports Arena. This year’s edition of the annual league playoffs featured the top four teams from 13-U through 17-U age groups, and the winners of those brackets have now qualified to the 2018 Girls NPL Finals.
FC Stars (Mass.) also captured a division championship, claiming the 17-U girls bracket. PDA South (N.J.) won the 14-U, 15-U and 16-U age groups, and PDA North (N.J.) clinched the 13-U division. League member FSA FC (Conn.) served as host of the playoffs.
The Northeast Girls NPL extends to the 19-U age group, as well, but that champion had already been decided by a one-game playoff between the top two teams. PDA South ’00 claimed that division after topping FC Stars ’00 on June 10, capping an 8-0-1 season.
There’s also a 12-U division in the Northeast Girls NPL, but the focus is entirely on development and scores were not kept.
Here is a complete list of champions from the 2017-18 Northeast Girls NPL season:
- 13-U girls: PDA North ’05 (N.J.)
- 14-U girls: PDA South ’04 (N.J.)
- 15-U girls: PDA South ’03 (N.J.)
- 16-U girls: PDA South ’02 (N.J.)
- 17-U girls: FC Stars ’01 (Mass.)
- 18/19-U girls: PDA South ’00 (N.J.)
