CHARLESTON, S.C. (Dec. 7, 2017) - The Central States NPL, a new addition to the National Premier Leagues in the 2017-18 season, will host a pair of boys crossover competitions between its member clubs in the north and south.
This upcoming weekend, Dec. 9-10, the Missouri clubs will host the Iowa clubs, and the Kansas clubs will host the Nebraska clubs. Two months later, on Feb. 10-11, Missouri will host Nebraska, and Kansas will host Iowa.
Here are the member clubs within the Central States NPL, organized by state:
- Sporting Omaha FC (Neb.)
- Nebraska FC (Neb.)
- Gretna SC (Neb.)
- Lou Fusz SC (Mo.)
- Sporting St. Louis (Mo.)
- KC Fusion (Kan.)
- Kansas Rush (Kan.)
- Vision Soccer Academy (Iowa)
- Des Moines Menace Academy (Iowa)
- FC United (Iowa)
The reason for the crossover format is that it accommodates differing boys high school seasons between the northern and southern members of the league.
Regular season champions from the Central States NPL have different postseason pathways based on gender and age group. Girls division winners advance to the 2018 Girls NPL Finals in Colorado in July, while the boys division winners will either go to the National Cup XVII Finals (13-U and 14-U), NPL Western Championship (15-U, 16-U and 17-U) or 19-U NPL Championship.
