HOUSTON, Texas (June 6, 2017) – Six boys teams and seven girls teams won their respective age groups after competitive seasons in the United Soccer Clubs (USC) Champions League and the Texas Champions League, respectively.
Between the two NPL Finals qualifying leagues, Classics Elite (15-U boys, 13-U girls and 18-U girls) and Lonestar (14-U boys, 15-U girls and 16-U girls) each secured three divisions. Austin Texans and Texans SC clinched two apiece, while Albion Hurricanes FC, Liverpool Elite and TSC Hurricanes all grabbed one age group.
Here are the teams that have earned their spot in next month’s 2017 NPL Finals:
BOYS (USC Champions League):
- 13-U: Texans SC ’04 Kingwood
- 14-U: Lonestar ’03 Red
- 15-U: Classics Elite ’02 JLM
- 16-U: Albion Hurricanes FC ‘01
- 17-U: Austin Texans ‘00
- 18/19-U: Texans SC 99/98 Houston Premier
GIRLS (Texas Champions League):
- 13-U: Classics Elite ‘04
- 14-U: Liverpool Elite ‘03
- 15-U: Lonestar ’02 TCL Composite
- 16-U: Lonestar ’01 Red
- 17-U: TSC Hurricanes ‘00
- 18-U: Classics Elite ‘99
- 19-U: Austin Texans ‘98
The United Soccer Clubs is one of 16 qualifying NPLs to the new Elite National Premier League (ENPL) competition.
The 2017 NPL Finals, featuring 13-U through 19-U boys and girls teams, will be held July 13-17 at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind. It is the culminating event of year-long, league-based competition among 22 NPLs throughout the country.
