Sixteen teams earn regular season titles after Virginia NPL seasons

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Feb. 3, 2017) - Ten clubs claimed 16 regular season age group titles in the Virginia NPL. This is the third season of the league, which has quickly acclimated itself to an array of US Club Soccer programming opportunities, including Players First, LaLiga Formation Methodology, ENPL, id2 and PDPs, etc.

Of the 16 division winners, 13-U through 19-U champions qualify directly to the 2017 NPL Finals. During the 2016 NPL Finals this past summer, Prince William Courage '97 Red advanced to the 18-U girls championship game.

  • 12-U: Richmond Kickers
  • 13-U: Richmond Strikers
  • 14-U: Northern Virginia SC
  • 15-U: Virginia Rush
  • 16-U: Richmond Strikers
  • 17-U: Virginia Rush
  • 19-U: FC Virginia

Girls

  • 11-U: Prince William
  • 12-U: Northern Virginia SC
  • 13-U: Virginia Soccer Association
  • 14-U: Virginia Soccer Association
  • 15-U: Prince William
  • 16-U: Virginia Rush
  • 17-U: Northern Virginia SC
  • 19-U: Vienna Youth Soccer

The 2017 NPL Finals, featuring 13-U through 19-U boys and girls teams, will be held July 13-17 at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind. It is the culminating event of year-long, league-based competition among 22 NPLs throughout the country.
