Arizona NPL hosts first-ever play weekend with 73 games across the state

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Sept. 13, 2016) - The Arizona NPL, a new NPL member league as a result of realignment within the Mountain Developmental League, began its first season this past weekend. All six clubs - Arizona Arsenal, CCV Stars, SC del Sol, Scottsdale Blackhawks, Sereno SC and Tucson Soccer Academy - played games across the state in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tucson.

The Arizona NPL features U-11 through U-18/19 boys and girls age groups, and all participated in this first play weekend. The U-15 girls and boys brackets featured the tightest competition with six of eight games decided by one goal or less. In total, 73 games were played across the league.
