In about two months, the NPL Finals, formerly known as the NPL Champions Cup, arrives in Greensboro, N.C. The NPL Finals is the targeted destination for all NPL teams throughout the year-long, league-based competition each season. This is Part 1 of a Web series leading up to the culminating event, July 10-14.
CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 8, 2014) – For the first time, the NPL Finals will be a standalone event, as 2012 and 2013 predecessors were held alongside the National Cup Finals – US Club Soccer’s cup-based national championship competition. The historical year deserves an equally impressive venue.
Enter Bryan Park Soccer Complex and its 17 Bermuda grass fields, featuring a 3,000-seat McPherson Stadium. You’ll also be able to enjoy a new clubhouse with concessions.
In addition to being the home of this year’s NPL Finals and National Cup Finals – to be held a week after the NPL Finals, Bryan Park Soccer Complex is the home to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s Greensboro United SA.
Carson Porter, former assistant men’s soccer coach at Wake Forest University, spoke glowingly of the facility in a quote published on the Greensboro United website. “Recruiting takes me all over the country, and I’ve seen some excellent facilities,” Porter said, “but I can honestly say the Bryan Park is the best place to play youth soccer in America.”
We think you’ll echo Porter’s sentiments in July. See you on the field.
